Tab Trade - What It Is

TabTrade opened in March 2026. Trading platform registered in Saint Lucia, licensed through the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, a well-known broker.

That last detail is relevant. It says the founder knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. But more reassuring than a random name you cannot trace.

TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres prime brokers run on. The typical new launch starts with a white-label MT4 setup. TabTrade did the opposite. Not the typical playbook.

What you can trade: forex, indices, metals, commodities, equities, crypto, ETFs. A wide spread. For a platform that is a few months old, that range is not narrow.

The Software

Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader by Spotware, and a browser platform. Two major platforms from one account. Most brokers only give you one or the other. Having both makes a difference. You are not locked into one.

MT5 is the industry standard. Full charting, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you have traded on MetaTrader previously, you know exactly what you are getting.

cTrader is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Smoother chart interaction. Native automated trading. Many people find it more natural once they try it.

FIX API is available for bots but is only on the VIP tier ($25,000 to open). TradingView is said to be in the works. That should make the platform set when it arrives.

Accounts and Pricing

Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.

Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. No commission. Straightforward. $0 to start. Suits beginners.

Edge account. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On liquid pairs, the raw spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost can sit below 0.5 pips. That is good for an offshore broker. Most brokers that run raw pricing at this level require a minimum deposit. This broker has no minimum.

VIP. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, execution under 20ms, custom pricing. Not something typical accounts. Do not worry about it unless you run serious volume.

Execution Speed

The execution is the area where this broker actually does something different. Equinix LD4/LD5. Under 30ms on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. The average platform operate at a much wider range.

Should you care? If you scalp, yes. The difference between fast execution and sluggish execution is profit or loss on tight trades. If you trade higher timeframes, you will not notice. What matters is they invested in proper execution. That signals they are not cutting corners on the tech.

Pair those fill times with the Edge account pricing and the total package holds up. Hardly anyone in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.

The FSRA Question

Here is the thing that requires honesty. TabTrade is licensed by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is tier-3. No FCA. No government-backed safety net. If the lack of tier-1 regulation makes you uncomfortable, stop reading. There are FCA-regulated options out there.

However. Benjamin Boulter spent years at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The execution setup is expensive. Fly-by-night platforms do not pay for proper execution infrastructure. This does not guarantee anything. But be part of how you think about it.

The trade-off: you give up tier-1 protection. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether that makes sense comes down to your priorities.
